We care about the emotional well being of our patients as well as their physical well being!  You will notice a positive difference from other veterinary clinics.  We love to offer treats, give anxiety medications if needed, and adapt our exam to reduce stress.

Fear of the unknown and doctors is not uncommon whether you are two-legged or four-legged! The veterinary clinic can also have strange noises and smells. Then a stranger (even though a sweet, caring veterinarian) has to palpate sensitive areas. We try to create a more positive experience by using treats, adjusting our exam locations, using pheromones, and decreasing scent triggers. However, sometimes we still cannot override the fear or anxiety and turn to pre-visit medications and in-clinic sedation. Although you may hesitate to medicate or sedate your furry pal, the benefits usually outweigh the minor risks.

Other veterinary clinics may use force to perform procedures or an exam. This increases the fears of the veterinary office and has a negative effect on future visits. We will not perform exams or procedures on pets with high levels of fear, anxiety, or stress. If the medication is not given or is not enough, we will perform sedation. Being a Fear Free Certified Practice, we are held to higher standards than other veterinary practices.   Please feel free to contact us with any questions!
